In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the key foreign market for frozen potatoes exports from Indonesia, comprising 55% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Philippines ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Singapore amounted to +29.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Philippines (+77.3% per year) and Malaysia (+51.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average frozen potato export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -9.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 3.5%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Indonesia
In 2021, imports of frozen potatoes into Indonesia soared to X tons, with an increase of 27% against 2020. In general, imports recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, frozen potato imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Belgium (X tons) constituted the largest frozen potato supplier to Indonesia, with a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, frozen potato imports from Belgium exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), threefold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Belgium stood at +77.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+5.8% per year) and the Netherlands (+6.1% per year).
In value terms, Belgium ($X), the United States ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) were the largest frozen potato suppliers to Indonesia, with a combined 86% share of total imports. These countries were followed by New Zealand, Canada, India and France, which together accounted for a further 12%.
Among the main suppliers, India, with a CAGR of +96.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average frozen potato import price amounted to $X per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 12%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
