In 2021, overseas purchases of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers decreased by -62.8% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, recorded a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 302% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, furnace burner imports fell sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 199%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main supplier of furnace burner to Indonesia, with a 90% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy (X tons), with a 2.7% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +16.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+21.2% per year) and Japan (-29.4% per year).
