Inductor Market Size in Indonesia

The Indonesian inductor market amounted to $X in 2022, picking up by 8.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a remarkable increase. Inductor consumption peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, inductor exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 92% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Singapore (X units) was the main destination for inductor exports from Indonesia, accounting for a 53% share of total exports. Moreover, inductor exports to Singapore exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, South Korea (X units), eightfold. Hong Kong SAR (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.1% share.

In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the key foreign market for inductors exports from Indonesia, comprising 41% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a 9.7% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with a 9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Singapore totaled +7.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+23.1% per year) and the United States (+48.2% per year).

The average inductor export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 28% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a dramatic decline. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, overseas purchases of inductors increased by 3.8% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +6.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. In value terms, inductor imports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 27%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of inductor to Indonesia, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, inductor imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hong Kong SAR (X units), threefold. South Korea (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +7.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+7.5% per year) and South Korea (+2.9% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Singapore ($X) and Hong Kong SAR ($X) constituted the largest inductor suppliers to Indonesia, with a combined 61% share of total imports. South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.

Vietnam, with a CAGR of +7.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average inductor import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -1.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 33%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the price for Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
