Metal chain imports into Indonesia contracted notably to X tons in 2022, declining by -18.4% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports showed a deep setback. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Singapore (X tons), China (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) were the main suppliers of metal chain imports to Indonesia, together comprising 87% of total imports. Finland, Italy, Germany, the United States, Taiwan (Chinese), Japan and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 13%.
