In value terms, camel and other animal meat exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
France (X tons) was the main destination for camel and other animal meat exports from Indonesia, with a 36% share of total exports. Moreover, camel and other animal meat exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X tons), sevenfold. Belgium (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to France amounted to +5.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (-0.9% per year) and Belgium (-26.9% per year).
In value terms, France ($X) remains the key foreign market for meat of camels and other animals exports from Indonesia, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 3.7% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 2.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to France totaled +9.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (-22.2% per year) and the Netherlands (+6.9% per year).

In 2022, Australia (X tons) was the main camel and other animal meat supplier to Indonesia, with a approx. 97% share of total imports.
