The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 83% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-alloy aluminium bar imports stood at $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 57% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Malaysia (X tons), China (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-alloy aluminium bar imports to Indonesia, with a combined 89% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Malaysia (with a CAGR of +26.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
