In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 61% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers imports totaled $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Japan, Germany, Italy, South Korea, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan (Chinese) and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.

Among the main suppliers, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +100.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average non-electronic hydro- and hygrometers import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -20% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 49% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
