Australia (X tons) was the main destination for skin organic surface-active products exports from Indonesia, accounting for a 23% share of total exports. Moreover, skin organic surface-active products exports to Australia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, New Zealand (X tons), threefold. Japan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.5% share.

Singapore, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, China, Hong Kong SAR, New Zealand, Vietnam, Germany and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.
China, with a CAGR of +81.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average skin organic surface-active products export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, skin organic surface-active products export price increased by +24.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to New Zealand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+39.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Organic Surface-Active Products For Washing The Skin
Imports into Indonesia
In 2022, the amount of organic surface-active products for washing the skin imported into Indonesia declined notably to X tons, shrinking by -18.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 302%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, skin organic surface-active products imports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 142%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Malaysia (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main suppliers of skin organic surface-active products imports to Indonesia, with a combined 81% share of total imports. Japan, the United States, the UK and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Japan (with a CAGR of +65.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Thailand ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Vietnam ($X) were the largest skin organic surface-active products suppliers to Indonesia, together accounting for 59% of total imports. Japan, the UK, the United States and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.
Among the main suppliers, Japan, with a CAGR of +46.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
