Over the period under review, export price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. In 2022, the amount of organic surface-active products for washing the skin imported into Indonesia declined notably to X tons, shrinking by -18.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 302%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, skin organic surface-active products imports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. Malaysia (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main suppliers of skin organic surface-active products imports to Indonesia, with a combined 81% share of total imports. Japan, the United States, the UK and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.
