Poultry-Keeping Machinery Market Size in Indonesia

The Indonesian poultry-keeping machinery market fell modestly to $X in 2022, waning by -2.4% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Overall, consumption, however, showed a strong increase. Poultry-keeping machinery consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

Exports from Indonesia

After five years of growth, shipments abroad of poultry-keeping machinery decreased by -4.7% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 149%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.

In value terms, poultry-keeping machinery exports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 279% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Myanmar (X units) was the main destination for poultry-keeping machinery exports from Indonesia, with a 60% share of total exports. Moreover, poultry-keeping machinery exports to Myanmar exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Malaysia (X units), twofold. Ethiopia (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8% share.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ethiopia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Indonesia

In 2022, approx. X units of poultry-keeping machinery were imported into Indonesia; waning by -9.6% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 98%. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, poultry-keeping machinery imports stood at $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Malaysia (X units), China (X units) and Vietnam (X units) were the main suppliers of poultry-keeping machinery imports to Indonesia, together comprising 87% of total imports.
