Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of prefabricated buildings, when their volume decreased by -10.1% to X units. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 144% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, prefabricated buildings imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 64% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest prefabricated buildings supplier to Indonesia, with a 88% share of total imports. Moreover, prefabricated buildings imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X units), more than tenfold. Hong Kong SAR (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to +40.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+19.7% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+22.5% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of prefabricated buildings to Indonesia, comprising 79% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 4.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 3.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +43.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+19.4% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+21.9% per year).

In 2022, the average prefabricated buildings import price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 70% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
