The Indonesian static converter market expanded markedly to $X in 2021, picking up by 5% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
France (X units), Singapore (X units) and the United States (X units) were the main destinations of static converter exports from Indonesia, with a combined 71% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the United States (with a CAGR of +5.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for static converter exported from Indonesia were France ($X), Singapore ($X) and the United States ($X), together comprising 74% of total exports. Japan, China, India, the Philippines and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, India, with a CAGR of +7.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average static converter export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 3.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 119%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Indonesia
In 2021, the amount of static converters imported into Indonesia stood at X units, rising by 11% on 2020. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +92.7% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, static converter imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +116.6% against 2012 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of static converter to Indonesia, accounting for a 78% share of total imports. Moreover, static converter imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X units), more than tenfold. Singapore (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +10.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+12.3% per year) and Singapore (-1.3% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of static converters to Indonesia, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 3.5% share of total imports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a 2.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +15.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (-1.9% per year) and the Philippines (-0.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average static converter import price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit), while the price for the United States ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
