Sausage Market Size in Indonesia

In 2021, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in the Indonesian sausage market, when its value decreased by -20.4% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, showed a remarkable increase. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2020, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

Overall, exports continue to indicate a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 89% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sausage exports fell sharply to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a prominent expansion. In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X), Timor-Leste ($X) and Papua New Guinea ($X) constituted the largest markets for sausage exported from Indonesia worldwide, with a combined 90% share of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Papua New Guinea, with a CAGR of +255.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 1,004% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sausage imports declined dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 1,380%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, the United States (X tons) was the main sausage supplier to Indonesia, accounting for a 99% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore (X kg), with a 0.4% share of total imports.
