Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X litres in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sugary soft drink imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 58%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Thailand (X litres), Malaysia (X litres) and South Korea (X litres) were the main suppliers of sugary soft drink imports to Indonesia, together accounting for 92% of total imports. Austria and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 2%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Austria (with a CAGR of +54.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest sugary soft drink suppliers to Indonesia were Thailand ($X), Malaysia ($X) and South Korea ($X), with a combined 76% share of total imports. Austria and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.3%.
