Over the period under review, imports posted a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 102%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, iron household articles imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 134% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main iron household articles supplier to Indonesia, with a 93% share of total imports. Moreover, iron household articles imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X tons), more than tenfold.
