Bangladesh (X tons) was the main destination for thiosulphates exports from Indonesia, with a 69% share of total exports. Moreover, thiosulphates exports to Bangladesh exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Japan (X kg), twofold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Bangladesh stood at -3.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Japan (+10.8% per year) and Singapore (-21.9% per year).
In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the key foreign market for thiosulphates exports from Indonesia, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bangladesh ($X), with a 15% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (-5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, purchases abroad of thiosulphates decreased by -25.6% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, thiosulphates imports contracted markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 92% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main thiosulphates supplier to Indonesia, accounting for a approx. 98% share of total imports.
