Singapore (X units) was the main destination for video game console exports from Indonesia, with a 59% share of total exports. Moreover, video game console exports to Singapore exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Timor-Leste (X units), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Singapore totaled +15.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (-7.3% per year) and Timor-Leste (-11.1% per year).
In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the key foreign market for video game consoles exports from Indonesia, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 7.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 6.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Singapore totaled +28.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+272.1% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-7.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average video game console export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -1.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 1,003% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Timor-Leste ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+70.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of video game consoles decreased by -28.6% to X units, falling for the fifth year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 205%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, video game console imports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 272%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) was the main supplier of video game console to Indonesia, with a 95% share of total imports. Moreover, video game console imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Singapore (X units), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to -17.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (-42.0% per year) and Japan (-48.9% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of video game consoles to Indonesia, comprising 94% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with a 4.7% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +8.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (-32.1% per year) and Japan (-43.2% per year).

In 2022, the average video game console import price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 3.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 94% against the previous year.
