Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum at X litres in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 25,520% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
The Netherlands (X litres) was the main destination for exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages from Indonesia, with a 41% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Philippines (X litres), fivefold. Malaysia (X litres) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.1% share.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the key foreign market for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages exports from Indonesia, comprising 39% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Philippines ($X), with a 5.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 3.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the Netherlands amounted to +34.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Philippines (+3,361.3% per year) and Singapore (+39.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average export price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages stood at $X per litre in 2022, jumping by 60% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per litre in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per litre), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+15.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Spirits, Liqueurs And Other Spirituous Beverages
Imports into Indonesia
In 2022, overseas purchases of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages decreased by -18.9% to X litres, falling for the third year in a row after three years of growth. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 232% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 106%. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
China (X litres), South Korea (X litres) and Mexico (X litres) were the main suppliers of imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages to Indonesia, with a combined 80% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +41.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages suppliers to Indonesia were China ($X), South Korea ($X) and Hong Kong SAR ($X), together accounting for 61% of total imports.
Hong Kong SAR, with a CAGR of +34.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages stood at $X per litre in 2022, with an increase of 45% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $X per litre in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per litre), while the price for South Korea ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
