From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to South Korea totaled +40.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Japan (+67.1% per year) and China (-26.0% per year).

The average export price for wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates stood at $X per cubic meter in 2021, stabilizing at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per cubic meter in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Indonesia
Imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates into Indonesia skyrocketed to X cubic meters in 2021, picking up by 317% on the year before. Overall, imports continue to indicate a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 1,299% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X cubic meters. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed strong growth. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
China (X cubic meters), France (X cubic meters) and Germany (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates to Indonesia, with a combined 92% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +78.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X), China ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates suppliers to Indonesia, with a combined 93% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, which accounted for a further 4.9%.
Germany, with a CAGR of +83.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price saw a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 111%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per cubic meter), while the price for Germany ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
