Japan (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) were the main destinations of cotton fabric exports from Indonesia, with a combined 63% share of total exports.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 4.7% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of woven fabrics of cotton was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of woven fabrics of cotton to Indonesia, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to -3.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hong Kong SAR (-8.5% per year) and South Korea (-15.5% per year).

In 2021, the average cotton fabric import price amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -2.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 4.5%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
