Overall, imports continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 183%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, albumins and albuminates imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of albumins and albuminates imports to Iran, with a combined 26% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey, the United States, Germany, Greece and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 27%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +53.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
