In value terms, exports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 345%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Azerbaijan (X units) was the main destination for exports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers from Iran, with a 83% share of total exports. Over the period under review, imports recorded a dramatic curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 85% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, imports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 99%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Turkey (X units), Sri Lanka (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of imports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers to Iran, with a combined 91% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Sri Lanka (with a CAGR of +183.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
