Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 169%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, carrot and turnip exports dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 224% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Armenia (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Oman (X tons) were the main destinations of carrot and turnip exports from Iran, with a combined 91% share of total exports.

In general, imports, however, faced a dramatic decline. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
