In 2021, the Iranian ECG market was finally on the rise to reach $X after two years of decline. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a dramatic descent. Consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a sharp contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 394% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ECG imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 469%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the UK (X units) constituted the largest ECG supplier to Iran, accounting for a 39% share of total imports. Moreover, ECG imports from the UK exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X units), sixfold. China (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the UK stood at -20.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (-10.6% per year) and China (-32.9% per year).

In value terms, the UK ($X) constituted the largest supplier of electro-cardiographs to Iran, comprising 89% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 1.5% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 0.8% share.
