From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, hydrogen peroxide exports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +103.7% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

India (X tons) was the main destination for hydrogen peroxide exports from Iran, accounting for a 71% share of total exports. Moreover, hydrogen peroxide exports to India exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X tons), fivefold. Turkey (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to India totaled +11.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (-0.8% per year) and Turkey (-13.2% per year).

In value terms, India ($X) remains the key foreign market for hydrogen peroxide exports from Iran, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with an 18% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to India totaled +6.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+4.8% per year) and Turkey (+5.1% per year).

Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 74% against the previous year. In 2022, after five years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of hydrogen peroxide, when their volume increased by 82% to X tons. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt decrease. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, hydrogen peroxide imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main suppliers of hydrogen peroxide imports to Iran, together accounting for 61% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +453.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of hydrogen peroxide to Iran, comprising 28% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 9.4% share.

The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
