In value terms, imitation jewellery exports surged to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Italy (X kg), Lebanon (X kg) and Germany (X kg) were the main destinations of imitation jewellery exports from Iran, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan and Poland, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Azerbaijan (+X% per year), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for imitation jewellery exported from Iran were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and Australia ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Azerbaijan and Poland, which together accounted for a further X (+X% per year) saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average imitation jewellery export price stood at $X per ton in 2020, which is down by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2019, and then declined sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Lebanon ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. from 2015 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imitation jewellery imports declined sharply to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, saw a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2020, China (X tons) constituted the largest imitation jewellery supplier to Iran, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, imitation jewellery imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), sixfold. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+X% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-X% per year).
In value terms, the largest imitation jewellery suppliers to Iran were India ($X), China ($X) and Turkey ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.
