In 2021, the Iranian memories market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 321%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, memories imports contracted to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, faced a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 263%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of memories imports to Iran, with a combined 94% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of -7.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline.
