From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X kg) was the main destination for non-medical x-ray exports from Iran, with a 94% share of total exports. Moreover, non-medical x-ray exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belgium (X kg), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany stood at +46.5%.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-medical x-rays exports from Iran, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 3.8% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany stood at +30.9%.
Export Prices by Country
The average non-medical x-ray export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 7.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 22%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium totaled $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (-8.1%).

Imports into Iran
In 2021, supplies from abroad of non-medical x-rays was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a pronounced expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 519% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-medical x-ray imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a moderate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 420% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-medical x-ray imports to Iran, with a combined 75% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +48.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-medical x-rays to Iran, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +53.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (-11.3% per year) and Malaysia (+42.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average non-medical x-ray import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 73% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the price for South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+12.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
