The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 9,720% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-wheat flour exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 17,308%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The Czech Republic (X tons) was the main destination for non-wheat flour exports from Iran, accounting for a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, non-wheat flour exports to the Czech Republic exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the UK (X tons), with a 5.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the Czech Republic was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+15.8% per year) and the UK (+98.4% per year).
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for non-wheat flours exports from Iran, comprising 27% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 9.6% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with an 8.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the Czech Republic was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+10.5% per year) and the UK (+97.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average non-wheat flour export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 77% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+19.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Iran
In 2021, non-wheat flour imports into Iran skyrocketed to X tons, jumping by 42% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, faced a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 61%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-wheat flour imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 131% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) constituted the largest non-wheat flour supplier to Iran, accounting for a 79% share of total imports. Moreover, non-wheat flour imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), fourfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the United Arab Emirates stood at -13.7%.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-wheat flours to Iran, comprising 91% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a 7.2% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the United Arab Emirates stood at -1.2%.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-wheat flour import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 21% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 52%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the price for Spain stood at $X per ton.
