Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plastic household ware imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 197% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of plastic household ware to Iran, with a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, plastic household ware imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), with a 3.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at +13.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+4.5% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-34.3% per year).
