Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, quince exports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 351%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Oman (X tons) was the main destination for quince exports from Iran, accounting for a 91% share of total exports. Moreover, quince exports to Oman exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kuwait (X tons), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Oman stood at +39.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kuwait (+33.3% per year) and Armenia (-21.7% per year).
In value terms, Oman ($X) remains the key foreign market for quinces exports from Iran, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Armenia ($X), with an 8.5% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Oman stood at +56.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Armenia (-8.3% per year) and Kuwait (+38.8% per year).
