Steatite Market Size in Iran

In 2019, the Iranian steatite market decreased by -X% to $X, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, consumption continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 with an increase of X% year-to-year. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) was the main destination for steatite exports from Iran, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, steatite exports to the United Arab Emirates exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Azerbaijan (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Cote d'Ivoire (X tons), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United Arab Emirates amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Azerbaijan (-X% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (X% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2019, imports remained at a lower figure.

Italy (X tons), India (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of steatite imports to Iran, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by South Korea, Turkey and China, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by South Korea, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
