In 2022, the Iranian television receiver market increased by 136% to $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Tanzania (X units), Azerbaijan (X units) and Georgia (X units) were the main destinations of television receiver exports from Iran, together accounting for 40% of total exports. Armenia, Turkey, Australia, the UK, Senegal, Belgium, Ireland and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 50%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the UK (with a CAGR of +58.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Australia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for television receivers exports from Iran, comprising 39% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Tanzania, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Australia stood at +59.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+20.9% per year) and Tanzania (+43.0% per year).

In 2022, the average television receiver export price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate tangible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 122% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of television receiver to Iran, accounting for a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, television receiver imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Singapore (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Turkey (X units), with a 1.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to -9.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (+91.1% per year) and Turkey (-6.1% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of television receivers to Iran, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 6.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 3.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (+72.6% per year) and Turkey (+9.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average television receiver import price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -21.4% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, television receiver import price increased by +5.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 35%.
