Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 234%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Azerbaijan (X tons) was the main destination for rubber tube and pipe exports from Iran, with a 61% share of total exports. Moreover, rubber tube and pipe exports to Azerbaijan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Tajikistan (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Azerbaijan amounted to +1.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Tajikistan (+2.5% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+25.2% per year).
In value terms, Azerbaijan ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber exports from Iran, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Tajikistan ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Georgia, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Azerbaijan totaled +5.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Tajikistan (-8.9% per year) and Georgia (+15.3% per year).

Imports into Iran
In 2021, the amount of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber imported into Iran skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of rubber tube and pipe to Iran, accounting for a 71% share of total imports. Moreover, rubber tube and pipe imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), sevenfold. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +5.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-5.9% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-13.8% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber to Iran, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 4.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China totaled +6.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-6.2% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-19.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average rubber tube and pipe import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
