In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 315%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wheat imports declined dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 403%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest wheat supplier to Iran, with a 40% share of total imports. Moreover, wheat imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Kazakhstan (X tons), twofold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany amounted to -8.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (-11.1% per year) and Australia (-29.9% per year).
