The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X kg), Ukraine (X kg) and Austria (X kg) were the main destinations of wood chips, particles and residues exports from Iran, together comprising X% of total exports. Poland, Norway, Belgium, France, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Spain, Canada and Croatia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2012 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Poland (with a CAGR of +X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for wood chips, particles and residues stood at $X per ton in 2020, surging by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of X% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2020 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wood chips, particles and residues imports reached $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. In 2020, Belarus (X kg) constituted the largest supplier of wood chips, particles and residues to Iran, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, wood chips, particles and residues imports from Belarus exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X kg), fourfold. France (X kg) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
