The exports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, exports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances reduced rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 323% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

The United States (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances from Iraq, with a combined 75% share of total exports.

For the sixth year in a row, Iraq recorded growth in overseas purchases of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances, which increased by 19% to X tons in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +17.5% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 53%. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, imports of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances expanded significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 30%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In 2021, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliance to Iraq, with a 48% share of total imports.
