In 2022, the amount of dry vegetables imported into Iraq soared to X tons, increasing by 31% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 403%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, dry vegetable imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 567%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Iran (X tons), India (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) were the main suppliers of dry vegetable imports to Iraq, with a combined 85% share of total imports. China, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 12%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Kyrgyzstan (with a CAGR of +164.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while the price for Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
