Over the period under review, imports showed a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 120% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X litres. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 81% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X litres) constituted the largest non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk supplier to Iraq, with a 54% share of total imports. Moreover, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X litres), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia (X litres), with a 4.3% share.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk to Iraq, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 7.1% share of total imports. It was followed by Austria, with a 6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the United Arab Emirates amounted to +58.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+87.8% per year) and Austria (+42.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk amounted to $X per litre, declining by -18.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 95% against the previous year.
