From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Greece (with a CAGR of +1,417.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, processed petroleum oils and distillates imports into Iraq dropped remarkably to X tons, which is down by -25.8% on 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 140%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, processed petroleum oils and distillates imports fell significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 163% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of processed petroleum oils and distillates to Iraq, with a 55% share of total imports. Moreover, processed petroleum oils and distillates imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by China (X tons), with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from India totaled +41.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+124.9% per year) and China (+131.6% per year).
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of processed petroleum oils and distillates to Iraq, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 9.7% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from India stood at +49.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+127.4% per year) and the Netherlands (+112.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for processed petroleum oils and distillates amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, processed petroleum oils and distillates import price increased by +9.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 88% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Oman (+18.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
