For the fifth year in a row, Ireland recorded decline in supplies from abroad of electromagnets and electromagnetic lifting heads, which decreased by 0% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 61%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, electromagnetic lifting head imports totaled $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 83% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest electromagnetic lifting head supplier to Ireland, accounting for a 60% share of total imports. Moreover, electromagnetic lifting head imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by India (X tons), with a 10% share.
