The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -28.8% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. In value terms, fresh chicken cut imports declined to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 25%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of fresh chicken cut imports to Ireland, together accounting for 96% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +33.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of fresh or chilled cuts of chicken to Ireland, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with a 14% share.
