For the fourth consecutive year, Israel recorded growth in purchases abroad of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers, which increased by 1.5% to X units in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +76.8% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 21%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +88.2% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Greece (X units) constituted the largest aluminium cask, drum, can, box and similar container supplier to Israel, with a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers from Greece exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Switzerland (X units), with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Greece totaled +9.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+9.4% per year) and Switzerland (+11.1% per year).

In value terms, Greece ($X) constituted the largest supplier of aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes and similar containers to Israel, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Switzerland, with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Greece amounted to +14.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+9.8% per year) and Switzerland (+16.1% per year).

Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 31% against the previous year.
