In 2021, supplies from abroad of carbon brushes was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, recorded a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, carbon brush imports reduced slightly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of carbon brush imports to Israel, together comprising 55% of total imports. The Netherlands, France, Italy and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +19.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
