The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 39%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for chocolate and confectionery exports from Israel, accounting for a 77% share of total exports. Moreover, chocolate and confectionery exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X tons), tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Chile (X tons), with a 5.9% share.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. Imports into Israel
For the fifth consecutive year, Israel recorded growth in supplies from abroad of chocolate and confectionery, which increased by 9.8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +20.9% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, chocolate and confectionery imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +88.6% against 2012 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) were the main suppliers of chocolate and confectionery imports to Israel, with a combined 40% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +26.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest chocolate and confectionery suppliers to Israel were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Belgium ($X), with a combined 42% share of total imports. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the price for Ghana ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
