Ether Market Size in Israel

The Israeli ether market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2022, after two years of decline. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, ether exports stood at $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 54%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per ton) and India ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

In 2022, purchases abroad of ethers increased by 156% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 2,350% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, ether imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, France (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of ether to Israel, with a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, ether imports from France exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Russia (X tons), threefold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from France stood at +118.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (+50.2% per year) and the Netherlands (+70.4% per year).

In value terms, France ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ethers to Israel, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from France stood at +67.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (+62.1% per year) and China (+6.5% per year).

From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
