In value terms, gypsum, anhydrite and limestone exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 204% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The UK (X tons), Palestine (X tons) and Kenya (X tons) were the main destinations of gypsum, anhydrite and limestone exports from Israel, together accounting for 71% of total exports. The United States and Congo lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Congo (with a CAGR of +13.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the UK ($X), Palestine ($X) and the United States ($X) constituted the largest markets for gypsum, anhydrite and limestone exported from Israel worldwide, together accounting for 83% of total exports. Kenya and Congo lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, gypsum, anhydrite and limestone imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 15%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
