For the third year in a row, Israel recorded decline in overseas shipments of household refrigerators and freezers (not combined), which decreased by -95.7% to X units in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 354% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer exports shrank sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 281% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The United States (X units) was the main destination for non-combined refrigerator-freezer exports from Israel, accounting for a 88% share of total exports. Moreover, non-combined refrigerator-freezer exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X units), more than tenfold.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, purchases abroad of household refrigerators and freezers (not combined) increased by 89% to X units, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports showed a strong expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a strong increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Turkey (X units), Thailand (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of non-combined refrigerator-freezer imports to Israel, together comprising 71% of total imports. South Korea, Mexico, Indonesia, Serbia, Germany, the United States, Japan and Jordan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +279.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
