Imports into Israel
In 2022, canned vegetable imports into Israel expanded significantly to X tons, with an increase of 10% compared with the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 34%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, canned vegetable imports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 22%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In 2022, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest canned vegetable supplier to Israel, with a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, canned vegetable imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Turkey (X tons), with an 11% share.

In 2022, the average canned vegetable import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 1.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 21% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
