Printing Press Market Size in Israel
In 2022, the Israeli printing press market decreased by -61.1% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, consumption, however, saw a tangible increase. Printing press consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, printing press production dropped markedly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, saw a significant expansion. After two years of decline, overseas shipments of printing presses increased by 14% to X units in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country
The United States (X units) was the main destination for printing press exports from Israel, with a 55% share of total exports. Moreover, printing press exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Singapore (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X units), with a 7.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to the United States stood at +4.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Singapore (-10.8% per year) and China (+7.8% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and China ($X) constituted the largest markets for printing press exported from Israel worldwide, with a combined 79% share of total exports. The UK, Singapore, South Korea, Argentina, Mexico and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 11%.
The UK, with a CAGR of +37.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average printing press export price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, printing press export price increased by +41.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Israel
In 2022, approx. X units of printing presses were imported into Israel; dropping by -16.8% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 95% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, printing press imports rose markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 98% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands (X units), the UK (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of printing press imports to Israel, together comprising 65% of total imports. Germany, Japan, South Korea, Italy and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of +67.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of printing presses to Israel, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany amounted to +12.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (+34.6% per year) and Italy (+4.7% per year).

In 2022, the average printing press import price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 36% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
