The United States (X tons) was the main destination for vitamin exports from Israel, with a 52% share of total exports. Moreover, vitamin exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States amounted to -3.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-19.2% per year) and the Netherlands (-8.2% per year).

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Israel
In 2021, overseas purchases of provitamins and vitamins increased by 28% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +55.4% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, vitamin imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +2.8% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of vitamin to Israel, accounting for a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, vitamin imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Switzerland (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the United States (X tons), with a 5.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +15.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Switzerland (+8.5% per year) and the United States (+17.7% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of provitamins and vitamins to Israel, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Switzerland ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +16.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Switzerland (+5.7% per year) and the United States (+24.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average vitamin import price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -5.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a mild descent.
